Things to see & do locally
A STONES THROW from our house is the ancient track , now road, of Snakes Lane leading westward onto Coldnose which makes the spine of the south Isle of Wedmore.
On this ridge to Wedmore you will pass Bagley public Orchard and then be tempted down to Wilkins legendary Cider barn.
FURTHER AFIELD is groovy Glastonbury, historic Wells and cheesy Cheddar all of which are easy to cycle to.
There are many excellent pubs cafes and restaurants and our favourites include Wedmore.
Details and sample menus are provides in the information folder.

WILDLIFE
We are constantly surprised by the tameness of local wildlife and you can sit
and watch deer, badgers, foxes, squirrels, jackdaws, green woodpeckers and buzzards.
How we love watching the wildlife eat our garden! Incidentally there is a reason its called Snake Lane.
We are the closest bed and breakfast to internationally regarded bird sanctuaries
such as Westhay National Nature Reserve and Shapwick Heath.
You can be birdwatching in 15 minutes from the house and back for breakfast before 10 o'clock.
If you don’t want to walk there you can sit in the garden at dawn on a still day and hear the booming bitterns!
If you have never heard of murmurations then allow us to show you, at about 4 pm, every Winters
day as thousands of starlings fly south directly over our house to their roosts on the moors.
